Our team would like to congratulate both Dan Del Rio and Chuck Caraway for their inclusion in the 2020 Northern California Super Lawyers® list for personal injury attorneys. This annual publication features high-performing lawyers from each region of the U.S. across 70 practice areas. What Recognition by Super Lawyers® Means
Super Lawyers® is a Thomson Reuters publication that vets lawyers in every state and practice area to help consumers find reliable, trustworthy representatives should they need help. Through a patented selection process, the Super Lawyers® independent research team identifies and evaluates attorneys who have shown all-around achievement in their careers. Candidates may be nominated by their peers, or they may be found by the organization’s researchers via public coverage and professional profiles. Each attorney selected for the initial round of assessment has their record scrutinized and is evaluated on 12 markers of professional success, such as:
- Additional licenses and certifications
- Professional activity
- Verdicts and settlements
- Representative cases
- Publications and speaking engagements
Each element is scored numerically and then weighted according to its overall importance to an attorney’s career. High scorers receive a personal evaluation by a Blue Ribbon Panel of successful attorneys in the same practice area. This step ensures the selection process accounts for nuances of an attorney’s career that may not be easy to quantify.
Finally, the candidates that rise to the top are selected for that year’s Super Lawyers® publication for their practice area. No more than 5% of a region’s attorneys make the final list, so for those who do, inclusion is an honor. Of those who are eligible for the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list (40 or under or practicing for 10 or fewer years), selection is limited to 2.5%.
Continuing a Tradition of Distinction
Dan and Chuck have been recognized by Super Lawyers® before:
- Dan was selected to Rising Stars from 2011-2019, making this his tenth total selection
- Chuck has now been selected to Rising Stars from 2017-2020
Both have also been honored by other local and national awards.
